Welcome to the online home of Claire Allen's piano and music theory studio, based in the village of Lea, near Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.
I'm a member of professional organisations including the EPTA (European Piano Teacher's Association) where you can find me in their Teachers' Directory, and the ISM (Incorporated Society of Musicians). I'm also enhanced DBS checked and on the update service.
I've 15 years experience teaching piano and music theory to beginners to advanced learners. As well as teaching face to face students locally, I have learners throughout the UK who learn online. Please contact me to discuss your needs.
Wellbeing is at the heart of my teaching philosophy. Whatever your motivation to learn piano - for recreation or career goals - I'll support your aims. I mentor learners in graded exams (performance and / or music theory) for personal achievement, as well as supporting music studies at school and further education. Performance opportunities are available for those who'd like to take part.
I regularly take on Continuing Professional Development training in piano teaching for beginners to advanced players. Separately from my BA (Hons) qualification, I've studied music composition at HE level 4, 5 and 6 (e.g. first, second and third year degree level). I'm also a qualified piano technician (CGLI, Dip) and happy to offer advice to learners looking to purchase a suitable piano.
